About Kevin
Mr. Giordano has been a practicing attorney for over 40 years. For most of his career, he has been at the forefront of providing comprehensive legal services to physicians, hospitals, nurses, and other health care providers in western Massachusetts. His practice has focused heavily on representing health care professionals and institutions in medical negligence litigation, licensure matters, quality of care investigations, and professional regulatory proceedings before the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, the Board of Registration in Nursing, and the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals. He also has advised health care providers on employment and professional relationship matters, including contract preparation and review, workplace and practice related disputes, mediation of relationship
difficulties, and termination related issues.
Attorney Giordano is an experienced litigator whose practice has included complex civil litigation involving medical malpractice, legal malpractice, personal injury, and employment related matters. He has served as lead counsel in more than 90 civil jury trials in Massachusetts state and federal courts. He has also represented clients before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Division of Administrative Law Appeals, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and the Massachusetts Industrial Accident Board.
Attorney Giordano is also a skilled negotiator and trained mediator. He completed certified mediation training through Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Alternative Dispute Resolution, has served on the board of directors of the Connecticut Mediation Association, and is listed on the American Health Law Association’s panel of arbitrators. He has also taught Relational Skills as part of a Leadership and Negotiation Master’s Program. His work in leadership and negotiation reflects a practical understanding of the legal, professional, financial, and personal pressures that often accompany health care disputes, professional liability claims, employment conflicts, and complex civil litigation.
Throughout his career, Attorney Giordano has frequently been invited to lecture to health care providers, attorneys, insurance professionals, and other organizations on medical legal issues, trial practice, civil procedure, apology and disclosure, electronic discovery, professional liability, and health care related risk management. He has presented at accredited continuing education programs in Massachusetts and nationally, including programs at the Cleveland Clinic and Lahey Clinic. He has also published and contributed legal analysis in the medical literature, including work addressing breast cancer litigation, prenatal genetic testing, ERISA preemption and utilization review, nursing malpractice, and obstetrical legal issues. He served as the legal editor and a contributor of legal analysis for Operative Obstetrics, published by Cambridge University Press. Attorney Giordano has also contributed his professional services to community and educational organizations, including his work incorporating the Wilbraham Hampden Academic Trust, Inc., and initially serving as the organization’s Secretary and then as its President.
