About Jonathan

Jonathan Goldsmith is an experienced attorney whose practice focuses on commercial law, corporate matters, real estate law, and bankruptcy. He is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification and has been admitted to practice in Massachusetts since 1986, as well as in the U.S. Federal Courts since 1987. Since 2005, Jonathan has also served as a panel Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee having been appointed by the United States Trustee.

Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College.

Jonathan has maintained long-standing involvement in professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. His leadership roles have included Chair of the Hampden County Bankruptcy Committee, and Chair of the New England District of the Commercial Law League of America. He also has served as a Past President of several organizations including the Springfield Public Forum, Temple Beth El and the Springfield Jewish Community Center. He currently serves as a Board Member of both the Springfield Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Western Massachusetts.

His professional achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest distinction for legal ability and ethical standards. In 2013, he was the first recipient of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts Pro Bono Award for Western Massachusetts. Jonathan has also been named a “Super Lawyer” by Boston Magazine and was selected in 2009 as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Massachusetts. Most recently, Jonathan was the recipient of the 2025 Volunteer Appreciation Award by Community Legal Aid of Central and Western Massachusetts.
