About Marissa

Marissa is an Associate with Egan, Flanagan and Cohen in their Litigation Department. As a Western Massachusetts native and a graduate of Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Marissa helps bring a local understanding to her practice.

Marissa obtained her Juris Doctor from Western New England Law School as a full-time day student while operating and owning her own painting business to fund her education. Marissa held many externships and internships during her time in law school, including as a law clerk for Judge Robert Fields in the Housing Court, as a law clerk at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and as an extern at the Center for Social Justice on both the CORI Sealing & Expungement Project and the Consumer Debt Initiative. During law school, Marissa was involved in numerous organizations, including the Athletics Committee (Co-Chair, 2022-2024), the Italian American Law Society, and Phi Alpha Delta.

Prior to attending law school, Marissa attended Dickinson College, where she earned her dual Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and English. During her time at Dickinson College, Marissa was a member of softball team and a notable member of Dickinson Softball’s 2019 Centennial Conference Championship team. In 2019, Marissa partook in a Spanish immersion program in Malaga, Spain where she lived with a host family and engaged with the community of El Palo.

During her senior year at Dickinson, Marissa was one of few students to complete a year-long English thesis program. Marissa was one of three students selected from her class to speak at the 2021 Research on Women, Gender and Sexuality by Students (ROWGS) Symposium for her senior thesis entitled “Uncovering a Forgotten History: Natalie Clifford Barney’s Women Lovers or The Third Woman and the Impact of Self-Censorship on Life Writing.”

During her spare time, you can often find Marissa on a softball field, whether coaching her players on the 18U CT Polar Crush or playing a game of slow-pitch with other WNE Law alumni. She also enjoys golf and playing with her two cats, Maverick and Goose.
