More Strength in the Courtroom: EFC Welcomes Erin J. Meehan, Esq.
The intentional growth that has defined Egan, Flanagan and Cohen, P.C. throughout 2026 continues into the fall. Following the arrival of Jonathan R. Goldsmith, Esq. and Thomas E. Argenio, Esq. in January, Henry C. Cropsey, Esq. in February, and Kevin C. Giordano, Esq. in June, we are proud to announce that Erin J. Meehan, Esq. joined EFC as Counsel in October 2026.
Attorney Meehan joins EFC from a respected area law firm, bringing more than a decade of litigation experience as an accomplished trial lawyer. Her arrival further deepens EFC’s well-established litigation practice and its ability to defend clients in complex high-stakes matters.
A Proven Trial Lawyer
Meehan has built her career in the courtroom. She represents businesses, non-profits, municipalities, educational institutions, property owners, and individuals in a broad range of litigation. She is a prominent negotiator and court-room advocate. Her work includes civil litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, municipal litigation, and commercial disputes.
Meehan has handled cases in both the Massachusetts state courts and the United States District Court. In those courts she has obtained favorable results in complex personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and commercial matters. Meehan has served as first-chair trial counsel in jury trials. She is well-versed in every phase of a case, from pleadings, discovery, and depositions through dispositive motions, risk assessment, trial preparation, and verdict.

Exceptional Credentials
Meehan earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. There she received the Academic Excellence Scholarship and earned Dean’s List recognition throughout law school. She graduated magna cum laude from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Meehan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Committed to the Community
The hallmark of an “EFC Attorney” is a dedicated commitment to the community. Meehan is no exception. She is an active member of the Hampden County Bar Association and volunteers with the Association’s Pro Bono Legal Clinic Program, helping to ensure that residents of western Massachusetts have access to legal guidance.
What Erin’s Arrival Means for EFC
“Erin is exactly the kind of litigator clients want in their corner,” said Michael G. McDonough, Esq., Managing Partner. “She has stood up in front of juries and won, she knows how to assess risk candidly, and she brings real energy to every case. She is a tremendous advisor and advocate for her clients, and we are happy to welcome her to our litigation team.”
“EFC’s reputation in the courtroom is something I have long respected,” said Meehan. “We have defended cases together over the years, which makes it easy to join this firm and begin contributing along side the great lawyers here.”
“Erin’s arrival is the latest hit in a remarkable year,” added Lauren F. Olanoff, a Partner and the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our 2026 additions have brought seasoned leadership to both our transactional and litigation practices. Erin is an active trial lawyer who will work hand in hand with our current attorneys on demanding litigation matters. We are proud to work alongside her.”
A Year of Purposeful Growth
Meehan is the fifth seasoned attorney to join EFC in 2026, and each has followed the same deliberate approach. The firm is always open to strengthening its foundation by adding attorneys of exceptional ability, strong community ties, integrity, and complementary expertise. Goldsmith, Argenio, and Cropsey strengthened the firm’s transactional, real estate, bankruptcy, corporate, and estate planning capabilities. Giordano and now Meehan bolster EFC’s litigation and defense practice.
As EFC moves into its second century, we remain committed to the values that have guided us since 1924. As Partner and Firm CFO Thomas E. Day, Esq., commented, “we are excited about this latest addition to help us expand our capabilities as a law firm, and we ask the greater legal community to join us in proudly welcoming Erin J. Meehan, Esq. to the EFC family.”
