Just one month after the addition of Jonathan R. Goldsmith, Esq. and Thomas E. Argenio, Esq. to Egan, Flanagan & Cohen, P.C., we are pleased to share more positive news about the firm’s continued growth. As of February 16, 2026, Henry C. Cropsey, Esq., a respected and long‑established solo practitioner in Longmeadow, has joined EFC’s Springfield office.
Cropsey brings with him a distinguished legal career, deep community roots, and a reputation for thoughtful, steady counsel. His arrival marks another intentional step in strengthening the firm’s capabilities across corporate law, commercial real estate, estate planning, and support to commercial litigation.
A Distinguished Career and Deep Community Commitment
Henry C. Cropsey, Esq. graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. After moving to Longmeadow in 1986, he devoted more than a decade to public service, first as Chairman of the Longmeadow Zoning Board of Appeals and later as Chairman of the Longmeadow Planning Board.

Over the years, Cropsey has maintained a prominent and wide‑ranging practice, advising businesses, families, and individuals on corporate matters, estate planning, and commercial litigation. His combination of academic excellence, practical experience, and civic leadership makes him an exceptional addition to EFC.
Strengthening the Firm’s Depth and Mentorship Culture
Cropsey’s arrival follows closely on the heels of Goldsmith and Argenio joining the firm in January—three seasoned attorneys whose collective experience spans more than 100 years. Together, they enhance EFC’s ability to serve clients across a broad spectrum of legal needs, including providing technical support and counsel to the firm’s commercial litigation practice.
“Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with EFC on a number of projects and have always been impressed with the firm’s expertise and its commitment to its clients,” said Cropsey. “For this reason, when I decided to seek the support of a larger firm, EFC was a natural first choice.”
John J. Egan, EFC’s former and long-time managing partner, highlighted Cropsey’s perfect “fit” at the growing law firm. “Henry Cropsey has long been recognized for his judgment, professionalism, and commitment to the community. His experience will not only strengthen our corporate, real estate, and estate planning practices, but will also provide invaluable mentorship to our newer attorneys.”
Current chair of the firm’s Corporate Department, Katherine A. Day, Esq., commented, “Henry, like Jonathan and Tom, will instantly add to what we are building within the transactional department of Egan, Flanagan and Cohen.”
Lauren F. Olanoff, a Partner and EFC’s Chief Operating Officer, commented that “mentorship is a central part of the firm’s growth strategy. With a steady pipeline of talented associate attorneys joining EFC in recent years—and at least two more expected to arrive later in 2026—the addition of highly experienced practitioners like Henry ensures that the we continue to cultivate the next generation of legal talent.”
Building on a Century‑Long Legacy of Service
Egan, Flanagan & Cohen enters 2026 with renewed momentum. The firm’s recent additions reflect a deliberate and strategic approach to growth—one that honors its 102‑year history while expanding its capacity to meet the evolving needs of clients in western Massachusetts and beyond.
EFC’s Managing Partner, Michael G. McDonough, commented, “Henry fits the firm ethos and standards that have guided us for more than a century: exceptional client service, deep community engagement, and a culture of collaboration and mentorship.”
This most recent addition leaves EFC poised for continued growth and success on behalf of its clients in the years ahead.
