Kate has dual specialties in estate planning and administration and labor and employment matters.
In her estate practice, Kate assists individuals with all aspects of estate planning, including Health Care Proxies, Durable Powers of Attorney, Wills and Trusts. She also acts as counsel to Personal Representatives and/or Trustees in connection with the administration of estates and trusts.
In her employment practice, Kate assists local businesses with a wide variety of employment matters, including drafting/revising handbooks and policies; conducting and overseeing internal investigations; responding to governmental audits; advising on discipline and termination decisions; negotiating and administering Collective Bargaining Agreements; and negotiating severance and other employment-related agreements. Kate also defends businesses against discrimination and other employment litigation claims. Occasionally, Kate will also represent select high-level professionals in negotiating hiring or severance agreements.
Kate’s favorite part of her practice is helping people through a difficult time in their lives or business and working with her clients to resolve their issues in a legal, moral, practical and cost-effective way.
Kate is currently serving a three-year term as a Hearings Officer for the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers and she is a member of the Massachusetts and Hampden County Bar Associations. She is also involved in her community having served several years as President of her church’s ladies’ guild, serving as a board member and Clerk of Longmeadow Baseball Association, being active in her children’s schools, and coaching several Longmeadow sports teams.
